Notes that change the numbers
- Washington requires the statutory form in RCW 59.18.057 for the 14-day rent notice, and a just cause under RCW 59.18.650 to end most tenancies.
- New York rent demands and non-renewal notices must include the Good Cause statement required by Real Property Law § 231-c.
- California 60-day notices apply once every tenant has lived there a year; many tenancies also need a just cause under Civil Code § 1946.2 or a local ordinance.
- Florida, Arizona and Virginia tie the month-to-month notice to the rental period or rent due date.
- Virginia's 14-day nonpayment period is in the version of § 55.1-1245 effective until July 1, 2027.
